Blanc de Blanc

Designing a white room is always challenging. The elegant light fixtures with black trim  inspired us with a vision of Chanel for this room. Black accents and a range of textures- from the shiny Murano glass sculpture to the textured wall covering and Pecky cypress ceiling keep the space from looking like a boring white box!

The accent pillow fabric-chosen to support the Chanel theme-looks like strings of pearls.

Award-Winning Kitchen

This kitchen was a masterwork on which I’m grateful to have collaborated with an amazing kitchen designer. I designed the huge window, which provides great lighting and anchors both the inside and outside elevations of this stunning English home in the Midwest. The Owner, a talented artist, was an equal design team member, checking every center line, every tile and every piece of hardware. We found the antique blue and white English china over the range at Portobello Road in London during the construction phase.

"Ann is a crucial part of the design team - interacting with the architect and the builder as a liaison - making all of our loads a bit lighter." - Developer in Colorado

Make an Entrance

Doorways can be “Friendly” or “Stately” or simply functional depending on the message the client wants to convey. The double entry doors below were designed to replicate doors in France from the 1800s. They were made by an American craftsman who had done his woodworking apprenticeship in France- where they “distressed” new entry doors to replace 100 year old originals by putting them in a pen where goats could walk over them.

Replacement door with shutters designed for an 1880s historic building on the National Register using  authentic construction details of the period.

“Ann’s mastery of both historic and contemporary design styles is unmatched.” - Client in Beaufort SC

Custom Furnishings

Sometimes, when a piece of furniture has to be a unique size, or if the client wants specific features, the best solution is a custom design.

“Ann always has a clear vision of what she’s looking for in a space, and it’s exciting for us to see how our custom pieces fit into her overall vision.” Custom furniture maker in Ohio
